Riverview Baptist Church

Riverview Baptist Church reached out for assistance regarding a church construction project after they were unexpectedly selected by Baptist Church Builders, which provides volunteer labor for one church each year. Initially not chosen, the church accepted the help when the originally selected church had to withdraw.

Over 100 volunteers were scheduled to arrive in Savannah, TN, at the end of June to help with the construction. However, there were concerns about the design and preparations being ready on time due to the slow design process of the unlicensed architect the church was previously working with and lacked the necessary drawings and permits.

Riverview then reached out to Eclipse for help asking to complete 6-9 months of work in the short span of 3 months, but efforts were made to expedite the process. A meeting with engineers and stakeholders was organized to address the challenges. To ensure everything was ready, it was essential to have the site graded, the slab poured, and all materials on-site two weeks before the volunteers arrived.

Drawings were submitted for the building permit and State Fire Marshal approval in mid-May, just before the deadline. Approval was received quickly. Site grading and slab placement were contracted out, and materials were ordered to arrive on schedule. A layout crew arrived two weeks before the volunteers to prepare the site.

The volunteers converged on Savannah the week of June 20 and worked hard for a full week before heading home. The remaining work was completed by Eclipse by the end of the year!
