First State Bank
First State Bank partnered with Eclipse Brand Builders to design and build the bank’s fifth full-service branch in historic Harlem, Georgia.
The exterior design, which was blessed by the local Historic Preservation Commission, blends the charm of traditional southern architecture, including red brick, a portico entry with handsome, dark wood doors, and stately white columns supporting a cornice adorned with decorative brackets, with modern, low-maintenance building materials that will withstand the test of time.
The southern charm continues on the inside of the 3,313 sf facility, with vaulted ceilings and a beautiful hand-stained wood teller line, which is contrasted nicely by the cool, light colors selected for the finishes and artwork throughout the building. The lobby also features many modern touches, including a frosted glass logo, hidden accent lighting in the ceiling, and state-of-the art security and cash handling technology.
The new branch includes three offices, a conference room, a workroom, an employee lounge, and a traditional, two-station teller line that also features a sit-down counter for additional privacy. The site around the new branch office, including the driveways, parking lots and drive-thru, was designed to maximize customer convenience while minimizing traffic congestion and potential noise pollution to the surrounding neighborhood.
